Bahia Beach
Plantation is the only 18 hole golf course in the San Juan area available
for unrestricted play by the general public and tourists. Everything
possible is done to make the golfing experience at Bahia Beach a memorable
one, including offering low fees, a great golf course, advance tee
times, and the friendliest of service.
Bahia Beach offers the latest Callaway rental clubs and Foot-Joy shoe
rentals. The driving range (small bucket included with golf fee) is
located next to the pro shop and near the 1st tee. Private and group
instruction is offered by our P.G.A. instructors.
The golf course was literally carved out of a turn of the century,
beach front coconut grove. Great care was taken to preserve as many
stately palms, native trees and vegetation as possible giving the
course a maturity that belies its youth. The observant golfer will
see iguanas, water fowl, hawks, and many varieties of fish in the
crystal clear lakes.
The layout features dramatic views of the neighboring El Yunque
Rain Forest, 75 acres of freshwater lakes, 13 water holes, and the
final three holes run along one of Puerto Rico's most beautiful
beaches.
No two holes of the golf course are alike. Each hole will give
you a different look and test a different part of your game. There
are no parallel fairways. The golf holes wind their way around the
lakes, jungle and along the beach. Because you seldom see other
golfers you will feel you have the course to yourself.
Because of excellent drainage (sand base) and a site location that
receives less rain than surrounding areas, the golf course is virtually
never closed due to wet playing conditions. Locals say "if
you can't play golf at Bahia, start building an ark."
Par at our challenging and beautiful golf course is 72 strokes
and 2 rolls of film, so remember to bring your best game, and a
camera.
